Football, a Baby, and a Residency

Milla and Brad were able to come down for the Ole Miss game this year, and although I can't take credit for any of these pictures, I wanted to share a few! We were also lucky enough for their visit to line up with Alicia & Russell, our cousins who now live in Asheville, NC... so it was quite the family reunion!

It is such a treat to have my sister here anytime. Auburn is a long way from Pittsburgh! And no, we did not plan the matching outfits...

I also recently had the joy of celebrating my dear friend Renee and her precious baby boy John Luke Winkler. He is due in January, and I can't wait to get my hands on him!!!

I have to take this moment to say how blessed I am with the friendships that I have here in Auburn. Renee and I see each other for a weekly girls bible study and also get together as often as possible to walk and catch up. We can walk for hours and never run out of things to say. Renee is such a bright spot in my life and an encouragement to me in a way that I have rarely encountered in my life. She memorizes scripture and spouts it back to me when I need to hear it most, she is a dedicated prayer warrior in my life, and she is so honest to share the real state of her heart every time I see her. Baby Luke is so blessed to have been placed in her family!

I also had some exciting news at work this week. We FINALLY received the approval to fund a new pharmacy practice residency program at the Central Alabama VA! We will have two positions starting in July 2012, and I will be a co-director of the program, along with my good friend Lynsey. I can honestly say that teaching and working with students has always been one of my favorite parts of my job, and this will allow me the opportunity to spend a large part of my time running a residency teaching program for recent pharmacy graduates. I am beyond excited. Our clinical pharmacy manager has been trying to make this happen for several years now, and a few different changes that have recently occurred at our facility and within our department finally opened the doors and allowed for us to start the program now. I can so clearly see the Lord's hand in orchestrating this and am honored to be a part of it.

Stay tuned for a recap of Ellie's wedding weekend! Announcing Mr. and Mrs. Joshua... William... Mills?
