Three years together

Three years ago, I knew why I wanted to marry Casey.

132

In fact, I wrote it down, and it was read in our wedding ceremony... as were his words to me.

I want to marry Casey because I have been praying for this man since I was in the 10th grade. My mom always told me that if I ever found anyone half as sweet as my dad, I’d be the luckiest girl in the world… and for the first time, when I met Casey, I knew what she was talking about. From day one, I felt the kind of love from Casey that I had grown up watching in my parents and hoping for with all my heart. I know that I am blessed beyond words to be standing where I am today, next to him. I want to marry Casey because he looks me in the eye and tells me that he loves me every single day. He holds my hands and prays with me. He protects me, cherishes me, and adores me wholeheartedly. I love Casey because he plays outside with me, cooks dinner with me, studies with me, challenges me, and encourages me in everything I do. He is the best friend I’ve ever had. He hugs me and doesn’t let go. He loves me even when I get us lost, can’t find my keys, or quit running after the second mile. He makes me laugh, he loves my dog, and he lets me be myself. Casey is so consistent and so steadfast. He is my rock. He is patient and kind when I am stressed and unloving. He is encouraging to me when I am feeling inadequate. He prays over me when I am out of words. I know that life with Casey will be wonderful, and I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us.

Of course, on your wedding day, you don't foresee that marriage can sometimes be hard. You can't possibly predict the things that will prove to be difficult for you... things that seem to come easily to everyone around you. Statistics will show you that it is rare for an unforeseen, emotional, and challenging circumstance to make a marriage stronger. Thankfully, I am not a statistic. Thankfully, I married Casey.

Casey is my rock, my voice of reason, and my biggest encouragement. He prays for me, and he prays with me. He remains calm when I do not. He tells me I'm beautiful. He knows how hard I work, he encourages me in the things I do, and he goes out of his way to put my needs before his own. He makes the bed every morning. He uses the vacuum, even though it's purple. He notices details, and he always says thank you.

Today, Casey sent flowers to work, and the veterans were all very impressed.

Happy Anniversary Casey. You are, without question, the best thing that ever happened to me. I couldn't do it without you. I love you!

Happy Anniversary Krisann and Casey! Casey was like a brother growing up, and I promise you every time I think about you guys, I think about how thankful I am he found you. Though I do not see y'all much, it just seems as though you both bring out the best in each other. Y'all are an awesome, couple and your love for the Lord shows through! I really miss both of you! Maybe we'll see y'all sometime and you can meet our new Preston!
